Boosting your self-esteem: Accept Yourself

March 29, 2012

The word “fitting in” is the cause of a lot of trouble. There is a want to belong to a group of people which start during pre adolescent onwards which is a normal need in psychology for a person’s development. Yet, when you strive to “fit in” most of the the time you end up not belonging.

The reason for that is, first you have to recognize and accept yourself. You have your own strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes. If you try to shape yourself and force yourself into what others want, or how others are, then it will be a never ending misery.

Once you accept yourself, and become comfortable in your own skin, you know become like a magnet, what you are attracts people towards you… They wont come all at once, but you’d be surprised at yourself to find that many people actually consider you a friend. It all starts with confidence. Not too much confidence. Confidence to be who you are that will also make people feel comfortable to be with you.
